Home appliance - Production Line Transfer

Background:

The home appliance industry is a crucial sector, closely tied to the daily lives and experiences of people. Thanks to advancements in big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, this industry is embracing digital transformation, using smart technology to boost efficiency across the entire production and sales chain.

Today, we present a case study on VisionNav Robotics' implementation in the home manufacturing sector.

Project Background:

Our client is a global home appliance company with multiple R&D centers and high-end intelligent manufacturing facilities worldwide. They focus on the development, production, and sale of smart home products, with a product line covering smart kitchen appliances, bathroom fittings, hardware, and more.

Riding the wave of digital transformation, the client actively prepares for the future by expanding technical capabilities and strengthening their competitive edge. At this production base, they implemented VisionNav Robotics' internal logistics automation solution to enable automated material transfers and digitized inventory management.

Project Process:

After products are finished, they enter the packaging area. Once packaged, materials follow one of three paths: direct storage, awaiting further processing, or post-processing storage. The client integrated multiple VNST20 pallet-handling AGVs and an RCS central control system to automate these processes.

  1. Finished Product Storage: Staff place full pallets at a loading point and summon the VNST20 AGV to transport pallets to the storage staging area. If the staging area is full, the VNST20 temporarily places the pallet in an intermediate storage area until space becomes available.

  2. Further Processing: Finished products needing further processing are transported by the VNST20 AGV from the unloading point to the processing area to await further steps.

  3. Post-Processing Storage: Once additional processing is complete, staff place full pallets in the post-processing area. The VNST20 AGV then transfers them to the storage staging area.

Project Value:

  • Efficiency Gains: The internal logistics automation solution, featuring the VNST20 AGVs and RCS control system, improves logistics accuracy and efficiency, reducing human errors and delays.

  • Enhanced Scalability: The home manufacturing logistics system must be highly flexible and scalable to meet varying production demands. The Future Robotics RCS system integrates with the client's MES system, adapting easily to changes in order volume, product types, and production line adjustments.

  • Supporting Industry Upgrades: By combining home manufacturing with automated internal logistics, the client achieves production automation, enhances productivity per employee, and drives the intelligent transformation of the home manufacturing sector.
